Found audio Creator Series

A wall of vintage cassette tapes with various designs and labels. The mood is nostalgic, evoking a sense of retro audio technology.
Silhouette of a person standing on a car roof under a starry night sky. They shine a flashlight upward, creating a sense of wonder and exploration.

The Found Audio Creator Series (FACS) is a recurring program of featured episodes from indie audio drama and podcast creators. FACS seeks to help our listeners find stories they'll love from our fellow indie creators by featuring an episode of your show on our feed. Each FACS series will run during set blocks of time, either between seasons of our show or during planned breaks. We aim to do a minimum of two series per year, pending available resources.

  • As women & nonbinary-queer creators, over the past eight years of making How it Ends, we've learned a lot about podcasting, the industry, and, most importantly, the cost — both financial and in sweat equity — of making a full-cast show. When we first started, a program like FACS would have given us a significant boost—a boost in confidence, in listeners, and in our reach. You get the idea. Fortunately for us, we got there eventually and have since met many amazing, talented people working hard to bring their art to life and have been willing to give us a boost whenever possible. We intend to pay that kindness forward.

Stories resonate differently with everyone; inclusion, access, and representation are non-negotiable. Much of success relies on opportunity and network. Two elements that are difficult to come by if you don’t already possess them. We hope to do our part in carving out space for storytellers who struggle for visibility. We aim to deepen our success by uplifting other creatives and fostering long-lasting partnerships.

The main goal of the FACS is to feature up-and-coming shows that are just starting, no strings attached. Shows with a solid listener base are also welcome to apply. In these cases, FACS functions as an episode swap where you will also post one of our episodes on your feed at an agreed-upon time. FACS exists to amplify marginalized voices within podcasting, specifically in the audio drama space. While we welcome all submissions, priority is given to Women-, BIPOC-, Disabled-, and/or Queer-run shows.

  • Audio dramas are preferred, but we are open to other themes! That said, we will not accept requests from podcasts that are created to promote a specific product or business that isn't part of the audio drama community. For inquiries on ad partnerships, please email inquiries@howitendsstudio.com

    How we decide
FACS isn't a juried program. Meaning, we do not judge based on criteria that fit any single style, genre, etc. Acceptance is based on audio quality, fit, and our priority to feature new(ish) shows made by creators outlined in THE WHY section above.

Inquiries for shows that target anyone via racism, sexism, homo-/bi-/trans-/ace-/queerphobia, classism, ableism, ageism, or any other such harmful bigotry of any sort will be immediately deleted and ignored.

  • If you're interested in being featured, please fill out the form linked below and we will reach out if you’re a good fit. If accepted, your episode will remain on our feed for up to three months. After that, it will be removed to make room for new shows.
