Blurred figures in warm light create an abstract, dream-like atmosphere. The motion and rich tones evoke mystery and emotion against a dark background.
A flock of birds with dark wings and light bodies soars gracefully across a clear blue sky, conveying a sense of freedom and tranquility.
Two silhouetted cats sit on a windowsill, gazing out at a sunlit, blurry green landscape, creating a serene and contemplative mood.

How it Ends Studio (HIES) is fully independent venture, founded and operated by Stephanie Resendes and Micah Rodriguez.

Our main goal is and has always been to make a high-quality show while striving to be inclusive, equitable, and consistently building upon all we learn with each passing season and project we make.

A serene dusk sky with a gradient of pink to deep blue, featuring a small moon. Silhouetted mountains line the horizon. A date, '98 1 1, is visible in the corner.
Close-up of a black audio interface with knobs and dials, marked "M-AUDIO," in a dimly lit room. A speaker looms in the background, creating a moody ambiance.

how it’s Made

Since our start in 2018, we've been fortunate to have garnered an incredibly supportive, kind, and unique community of listeners. Whether you support us through a one-time or monthly contribution, How it Ends shop purchase, with a positive 5-star review, or by sharing our show with others, we are eternally grateful.

The studio, and by extension its projects, is 92% self-funded. The remaining percentage comes from Patreon contributors and modest ad revenue through our partnership with REALM Media Podcast Network. HIES pays its team members rates as close to industry standards as it can afford. Given the indie nature of our studio and show, at present, Stephanie and Micah are not compensated for their work. Instead, 100% of incoming funds are redirected to the talented team behind the show.

THE SHED is a quarterly, digital zine* packed with content created by the studio team and How it Ends characters, including recipes from Elia's kitchen, media deep-dives and commentary from Devon, insights into Micah's behind-the-scenes world, and other fun and interactive content.

*For the unfamiliar, zines are “often homemade or online publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter." THE SHED will launch digitally, but maybe… just maybe… will be available in print for collectors.
